I absolutely love this place for their xxl chicken thigh. the seasoning they use for it is amazing. also, I love their fried mushroom because the seasoning is so so good. honestly both of these are my go to, you must try them. you order at a kiosk here and the service is fairly quick. the inside has a little seating but i mainly grab and go here. the food is best eaten as soon as you get it because as time passes, it loses the crispiness which is the best part. overall, super good fried chicken and mushrooms here.

Popcorn chicken is my go to and luckily for me, it's right across the street. I've been to the Shilin night market in Taiwan and this definitely matches the flavors, aromas and spice that I experienced. I'm here at least once a week. Let's go!

Food was delicious. We only ordered the Popcorn chicken rice box and shrimp pancake. But those 2 items for me were delicious. The portion is huge and met the craving. I've been on a trip for popcorn chicken over rice lately and this definitely hit the spot for me! I'll definitely keep this in rotation.

Yum! I love their popcorn chicken and giant chicken cutlet. Food is always super hot and crispy to order. Shihlin doesn't disappoint! This my first time at a stand alone store, I have only tried shihlin at the mall. I loved their decorations inside, they even have a wall with a few of those rubber screaming chickens haha It's best to order online on the snackpass app since it does take 10-20 minutes depending on your order due to the demand. They always give a generous portion size that I appreciate so much. I call the stores in this plaza the Asian Trifecta because right next door, to the left is a SomiSomi and to the right is CoCo's. You can get ice cream and boba all in one trip!

For a limited time, they brought back Happy Hour. Yay! Happy Hour only Monday thru Thursday, 2pm - 5pm. 50% off on fried mushrooms and drinks. The service was nice and friendly. Original Pearl Milk Tea - good milk tea and the boba was plentiful, soft and chewy. Red Guava Aiyu Jelly - fruity, refreshing. I wish the aiyu jelly was firmer. Smoked Plum Drink - good, fruity, if you like plum drink in general. [per their website] "Crispy King Oyi-Shi Mushroom: Generous portion of King Oyster and Shiitake mushroom is lightly battered and skillfully fried to a golden crisp. Rich in antioxidant and highly addictive, this night market favorite is served with a sprinkle of our signature spices. The Crispy Salt Pepper Mushroom is a special product launched to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks."

I'm a regular; I come here for the Oyster Pancakes. I am not sure if I have been here before, but I have been to their other locations. This location's Oyster Pancakes tasted fine, and so did their popcorn chicken bento. Service was fast with text updates. And the ambiance seemed to feel like a takeout place.

Lifelong Houstonian here. I had to see how the popcorn chicken in SJ compared to back home since it's one of my favorite snacks. I was very impressed! I ordered the popcorn chicken snack and popcorn chicken ricebox, which came out within 10 minutes. Still very crispy and hot after being serviced. A+ for the abundant (but not excessive) amount of spicy powder that was coated on top. Portions were decently large for the price you pay. Very impressed with the food quality, especially since I found out that Shihlin is a very common chain through SJ. Great place for a both quick snack or full meal.

The Fish Ball soup is amazing! It helps me remind my grandma in China. Highly recommended!

Shihlin is such a gem! Fantastic prices, hefty portions, and solid flavor. Tastes like home in Taiwan. Best value has to be the XXL chicken, either thighs or breast. One of these paired with home cooked rice can last two meals at minimum. Taiwanese fried chicken has a unique, slightly sweet exterior from all the seasoning for those unfamiliar. XXL Chicken Breast - I personally wanted a leaner option. The breast is less juicy and tender but still easy to bite with a strong flavor. More protein and better macros but honestly, I recommend the thighs for a first experience as they're more flavorful and tender.
